Kia ora koutou!
It’s that time of year again and the team behind NZ Games Festival is ready to grow!
NZ Games Festival is a rapidly growing event that’s speedrunning its way through the ANZ gaming events circuit. 2021 will be our fifth year (sixth year of organising – thanks Covid!) – but our small team of party-parrot wielding champions is a few hands short.
We’re looking for a few more enthusiastic can-do folks to join the ranks of our committee for the 2020 festival. If you’ve ever wanted to get involved with the little festival that could, now’s your chance!
- Organisation largely takes place during October 2020 -> March 2021
- Committee members will be part of an informative Slack channel with monthly meetings from early November until the event runs.
- Please note these are volunteer positions, though our directors are happy to offer professional references for committee members.
Have a look over the vacant roles below, and if anything catches your eye, let us know via this handy form!
The deadline for applications is 9pm on Monday September 14th.
experienced event manager
NZGF is looking to add an experienced Event Manager to our lovely Events Management team. Together, the team is responsible for organising our yearly events.
As an Event Manager, you will be responsible for taking ownership of two festival events. Namely, these are the Pavs awards night and a mixer for internal and external festival stakeholders.
Events Managers get to work with various other members of NZGF’s committee to develop budgets and schedules, organise volunteers, and coordinate media releases.
As someone with experience running events, the newer members of the team would be able to come to you for guidance and support as they navigate planning and running their own events.
If this sounds like a fun way to get involved, we’d love to hear from you.
workshop coordinator
One of NZGF’s longest standing events are our workshops, and we’re looking for a new Workshop Manager to help children, teens, and adults alike to learn more about making games.
This is a many faceted role as it includes brainstorming workshop ideas, organising workshop presenters and volunteers, and collaborating with the Media team to let the world know about these fantastic events.
Ideally, a Workshop Manager will feel comfortable shoulder-tapping members of the gamedev community about running workshops. You’ll be confident taking ownership of our line-up of workshops, as well as communicating with external stakeholders to meet their requirements and organise assets.
If this role sounds up your alley, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
we wanna hear from you!
If any of the above sounds like your (game) jam, let us know via this form by 9pm on Monday September 14th. If you have any questions or want to know more, feel free to flick us a message on our socials! 🙂
