Ray is the founder and director of GameTan.
Initially beginning as a side passion project, GameTan has since grown into a platform for our youth to create a future for what they’re passionate about; opening pathways to eSports, event coordination, content creation, video game journalism, software development and many more opportunities.
With his team, Ray has organised many video gaming events from competitive online pro Fortnite tournaments to live gaming events like Youth Zone at ArtBeat19.
Outside GameTan, Ray is a co-founder of Ora Kura (the School of Life), an online education program dedicated to helping the youth of New Zealand through practical subjects such as self-discovery and developing a growth mindset.
As a typical Kiwi-born Tongan who grew up in South Auckland playing Rugby and watching the All Blacks, Ray finds it exciting to see the same grass root structures growing around competitive video gaming. With the explosion of virtual entertainment, it has never been a greater time in history to be a gamer and be a part of the video gaming industry! Games Ray’s currently playing are Fortnite, League of Legends, Dota 2, Diablo 2 and Apex Legends.
