time to unleash your inner artist
Every game world comes alive once you add characters to fill them. So as a budding character artist, your job is to visually create concepts for the inhabitants and worlds of your game! This session will show you how to develop your own characters for a game through the power of a drawing tablet and the freely available digital illustration program GIMP.
By the end of the workshop, everyone will have their very own character design and the know-how to keep on creating characters on their own at home.
Teens (13+): Date TBC
Kids (8-12 years): Date TBC
Anyone who is attending two workshops in one day will need to be collected by a caregiver during the lunch break.
As lunch is not provided, we recommend using this time to get something to eat.
$10 per workshop
Price is GST inclusive.

I’m Samuel Fraser, a passionate Melbourne-based freelance artist who has been working as a facilitator for 3 years running art based workshops in schools and youth centres. Most days you can find me scribbling on my tablet drawing new characters for Tabletop games and concept art for video games. I enjoy sharpening my skills as an illustrator and pushing myself to be a better artist every day. I love collaborating with other artists, learning from each other and fostering a supportive and respectful community for the next emerging artists.
